5 top 20 world ranking dressage riders: that you have to earn!

18 December 2018

We already knew Jumping Mechelen deserves top dressage riders. We also know that Flanders’ Christmas Horse Show is definitely worthy of hosting an FEI World Cup.

No effort was too big to celebrate the return of the World Cup dressage to Malines. That is a fact. It appears that also the world's best dressage riders knew about this. That is why we received a lot of requests to participate. They clearly appreciated us moving dressage to primetime on 28 and 29 December.

Former world champion Eduard Gal will be present. His partner Hans Peter Minderhoud and Madeleine Witte-Vrees will also be there to defend the honor of the Netherlands. These three dressage icons were all part of the Dutch team last summer in Tryon.

For Germany we are welcoming, among others, top rider Helen Langehanenberg. She already won the World Cup in Mechelen some time ago and is keen to repeat this with her new top horse Damsey FRH.

Sweden is also sending a strong duo. The stallion Dante Weltino and his rider Therese Nilshagen are among the best in the world. They will certainly defend their chances and compete for the podium.

For Ireland, another young talent will be traveling to Malines. Judy Reynolds has been making a big impression in the finals at competitions such as Aachen, the European Championships, the Olympic Games and several World Cups. She was one of the first riders who indicated she wanted to discover Jumping Mechelen.

Of course we cannot forget our own stars. Almost the entire Belgian team of the World Equestrian Games in Tryon will compete on 28 and 29 December. Current Belgian champion Jeroen Devroe, Jorinde Verwimp, Fanny Verliefden, Isabel Cool and David Engelen will show that our little country is one to reckon with.

Other countries, such as France, Portugal and England are also sending some of their best dressage riders.

In short, you are in for a treat: Top-level sports, some of the best riders in the world, an organization that has put its best foot forward to make this an unforgettable experience and, to top it all off, a wonderful crowd to cheer on their heroes.

Order your tickets now! We would love to see you at Jumping Mechelen for the World Cup Dressage on 28 and 29 December 2018.
